Common questions

Green card FAQs.

How long does a marriage-based green card take?

Most marriage-based green-card cases are resolving in 12–20 months. We track USCIS processing times and keep you updated throughout.

Can I travel while my application is pending?

Yes — once your Advance Parole (I-131) is approved, you can travel while your I-485 is pending. We file it concurrently.

Can I work while my application is pending?

Yes — your Employment Authorization Document (I-765 EAD) typically issues in 4–8 months and lets you work while adjustment is pending.

What if we haven't been married long?

If you've been married less than two years when your green card issues, you get conditional residence. We file the I-751 together 90 days before it expires.

What happens at the interview?

A USCIS officer reviews your case and asks questions about the relationship. We prep you thoroughly — mock interview included.
